puzzleA thin tiny child’s monotone whimper lays still, as dead, daring not the slightest movement as the rumbling, booming base occupy’s all other space with black dark emptiness. Sleep is shaken abruptly. My wet t-shirt clings to my chest as my eyes focus on the familiar ceiling of my bedroom and my breathing slows. It’s the middle of the night when I climb into my mother’s bed and return to sleep.
